That would be like a complete outline of the board since post one. But here's a short version.

First look for short term chart pattern. (week or two on a 3 month chart) Then look at a 6 month for and darkside setup. (CMF + or - large in stalled PPs) Then read PRs and check PR cycle. If I am interested. Any of the first steps not screaming something will happen in 2 weeks I move on. And the volume has to be large enough to get in & out easy with the trade sizes I plan to trade. 1 mill or more .001 to .01, at least.

Enter is when DMI+ crosses up over DMI- (early) & (confirmed) if ADX is heading up with DMI+, as long as DMI+ is on top. 5,10,20MA lined up in order, supports owning the stock.

I pick gain target next. By looking at the past gains seen. If I see 15% I pick 12%, if I see 30% the I pick 25%, Always pick lower gain to increase odds of hitting goal. For the loss target I just devide the gain by 1/2.

Usually don't enter unless there is a chart pattern projecting a gain target as big as the gain target I want. Chart patterns start my interest and end it. TA chooses entry points and targets of goal & expectable loss, picks sell points.

PS;

My response was for OTC stock plays, not exchange stocks. Completely different mindset for choosing investemnt stocks. Much more based on financials & DD of SEC filings, then the TA & charts. Basically the same trading process, but start with 6 month chart and don't look for any darkside setups. LOL Look for company pipeline and expected future contracts, in a stable sector. I'll trade a hot sector, using the same info, but usually don't feel hot sectors deserve the same long investement mindset respect, if that make sense. I respect exchange companies, don't love them.
