#64720 RE: foreontee #64677

I have a gmail account that is setup with email alerts. I get emails everyday on searchs that I have set up. What exactly triggers it I do not know (outside of the search) but it is interesting as some search words may sit idle for months on end and the next thing you know you get all kinds of items on the subject. A perfect example of that is I have searchs for Ray Willenburg and Brad Ketch. For well over a year it never triggered. If you saw my link fest for those two recently you can see that all of a sudden I am getting email alerts from these searchs.

I forget what the trigger was on this one. It might have been RSMI, Telcordia, Or Rim Semiconductor. I posted the Telcordia link probably around a month ago in one of my link fests. I forgot where I stored it and simply went to Amazon and did a search for Telcordia. I had not seen the Extreme Copper report before last night but in searching around Amazon found it before I found the Telcordia Report.

From this experience it would seem to me that Google surpresses information and lets it out when it is good and ready. I say this because when you do get the alert it may take you to a page that has been up for years. It maybe just the opposite however....it could be that these pages for whatever reason were being missed by Googles webcrawler and were recently registered into the Google engine and that is why they were finally recognized.
