ONEBGG, the Board Chairman, will be around shortly to welcome you, and I am sure, will delight in your Thompson story. I imagine that was quite an experience. I know I will never forget my experiences with the UZI 9MM, and I just couldn't wait to go the the range and fire the M-16 while I was in the Army.

Anyway, pull up an ammo box, grab a cup of coffee (may smell a little like Hoppes #9 though) and join in.

Dannyboy_101...Welcome To The GUNS/BARMSII Board! You actually had one of the Tommy Guns; Boy do I envy you!

Someday I hope to own one, but I want a fairly decent one and there's nothing fair about the price!

I guess that's not true, from what I can tell the "Tommy Gun" is one heck of a machine and one dammm fine gun that are well worth the money asked of them. Our military and the civilian market seriously and mistakenly overlooked it. It has quite a history behind it; basically it was one of the first, if not the first gun to be 'oppressed' by political 'opinion', built with the help of the anti-gun driven media. However it is supposed to be a great shooter and a very good gun, much as you stated.

The Tommy Gun is something I hope to own and shoot before I die, it will be one of my crowning achievements and the highlight of my collection.
