Correct, it's the same old problem of everyone who owns shares believing they could have gotten the maximum during a run by selling all of their shares and not doing so, but then turning right around and figuring that they lost all that money on paper.
Again, 'you' only make or lose money when you sell...the rest of the time it's just a dream.
