Bob:

We already have a search for partial member names.

When you are on Advanced Search, 1. is Select Author criteria. You can choose "All Authors". Why can't one of the the options be member search. Once the name is located, it searches for that member's posts.

Yoda Bob,

I just assumed you would use equals instead of like, but I see your point. Cut & paste would work for tough aliases.

Either way, have a great Sunday!

We have an issue with uniqueness of Alias as well, but at least on iHub that's one we can probably rectify since there are only 52 affected accounts.

We really need to revamp all forms for search from the ground up. I know you're already working on the catalogs so we can so we can do date-parameterized searches.

We also need to be able to launch Advanced Search from a member Profile or a Board and have that parameter already populated in the Advanced Search form. That way it doesn't need to be in Favorites.

The literals "Posts From", "Posts To" and "Posts on" need to be removed from the drop-down lists so the list can be navigated by typing the first letter.

The "PMs From" list on PM search needs to be populated with names that have PM'd the user rather than from Favorites. The same for "PMs To". That will likely reduce the size of the Favorites and reduce overhead of the Favorites and Board pages.

Perhaps our approach for some of the parameters should be either something from a select list, OR something free-form? Let the user select a radio button on each parameter so show which one is being used, defaulting to the most common ones.

We also need to have a populated form at the top of the result page so the user can modify the parameters without having to return to the original page; that is often expired and no longer populated anyway.

I think Meatloaf already added paging to iHub's results set, and SI needs that too.
