Rc I didn't see the interview but its possible that if the discussion had been about rapid oral tests in the USA then the fact that Orasure has the only test would be appropriate, as Calypte has no FDA approved tests here.
As to the CEO not mentioning the 6 month shelf life without being asked about it, you have to be kidding right?
Would you expect Roger Gale to get up and voluntarily announce that Calypte has a rapid oral test but that:
1. The rapid tests only sold $ 16,000 worldwide in last quarter.
2. The rapid tests are not approved in any country that manufactures its product
3. Calypte has not ever made a net quarterly profit since its inception.
4. It has been 3 years since China clinicals began and they STILL do not have SFDA approval.
5. Calypte's rapid test does not have FDA, EU, or WHO approvals.
6. That in last 30 months the CEO, VP of Sales, and CFO have resigned and just this week the current VP of sales and past CFO was "terminated".
7. That Roger has missed every "projection" he has made about Calypte.
Of course not. But if asked in an interview Roger would have to admit that all the above are true.
Maybe Calypte could ask for equal time to announce items 1-7 above.
