If you´re interested in a better translation, let me take a shot:
(the relevant bit, the rest is just more of what we´ve heard before)
"Quant à savoir si proposer à la fois des serveurs Intel et AMD au catalogue a un sens, la réponse est clairement oui."
"If you want to know if it [he says "generally", that´s the weasel part] makes sense to offer both AMD and INTEL servers in the line-up at the same time, the answer is clearly yes."
That´s what HP does, and explains my "endorsement" comment. The question is: Has this bit been correctly translated from English into French in the first place?
Mein Französisch ist jedenfalls über alle Zweifel erhaben ;-)
DARBES, from my admittedly less than perfect French, there's some question in my mind as to exactly what "Mike the slippery-tongued" actually said. Perhaps someone here is more fluent and can give us the low-down? Paul
DARBES, there are a few problems with the Dell quote.
First of all, Dell probably stated it in English and then it was translated into French (and back into English). Does anyone know if Mikey is fluent in French?
Second, I refer to this translation from the French:
As far as knowing if it makes sense to offer "Intel" and "AMD" servers in our catalog, the answer is clearly yes.
