I'm sure some areas are much better for AT&T coverage. I just saw an article about AT&T's 3G service expanding significantly in NY.

But here, in the SE, AT&T doesn't have the same penetration, tho they (supposedly) are expanding the number of towers here in my town... which they should do, if for no other reason then one of AT&T's Board members is one of this community's leading citizens. I know it must be embarrassing as heck for him.

I have used Verizon's network extensively in the Pacific Northwest

And I have now used AT&T's since the iPhone was released.


That might have something to do with the fact that ATT Wireless was based out of Seattle.

I think that the nationwide surveys would show Verizon with a clear lead. There really isnt much debate on any of the mobile forums that I follow that Verizon's network is generally superior to any of the competition.

BTW, we are just talking about coverage here. You can also add in the fact that EDGE is excruciatingly slow. Demonstrating the iPhone over EDGE is an embarrassing experience...
