Thanks for the link. I don't recall seeing until now that OLPC intended to switch to Intel by January. That's too soon for Silverthorne, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a low power Dothan or Stealey in there. Or perhaps, a variation of the low cost Essential platform, that includes a 1.2GHz Merom (Celeron 220) integrated on its own motherboard.
If they could make a smaller custom form factor for this that fits in an OLPC laptop, it could be a good low cost option for them. This one is going for $70 for the processor + motherboard. I think about $20 less, and it would be a good candidate for OLPC.
