I don’t like any of the cosmetic-laser companies as long-term buys.

Speaking of cosmetic lasers, I was amazed to open a recent issue of Grant's and see Syneron (ELOS) reviewed as a value stock. Having $200 million in cash ($6.90) a share helps, I guess. And Syneron stacks up very favorably against Palomar in terms of margins, US sales, overseas diversification, etc.

Anyone understand what Syneron's ELOS technology is all about? Sounds kind of flakey and mumbo jumbo:
