All depends on the circumstances.

If a shareholder needed to unload (for whatever reasons), and not enough bid support is there, it may dip, but recover quickly. Or if a basher created short term panic, doubt, and/or fear, it should recover easily.

If an event occurred that did NOT impress the market, the loss may stay sustained.

If the company is selling new shares into the market, it may also stay down, and possibly even go lower.
