Yes, I figure they could make about 3.5 million a quarter if they didn't make anything else and they could find a way to dump the slowest ones.

This has nothing much to do with manufacturing. ;-)

This has everything to do with manufacturing. It leaves them with uncompetitive performance and poor yields to boot. Had they a competitive process then they could manufacture it instead of having to run multiple process generations along with R&D in the same Fab. In the end, it's all about manufacturing.
