Not only blocks the flashers, it removes the banners altogether. I haven't seen a banner ad, flashing or static, since I installed it.

If it's animated GIFs that are the trouble, go here, install Pith Helmet, then go to your Safar Preferences, click the Pith Helmet tab and choose Play Animated GIFs either "Once" or "Never" and you're all set. Pith Helmet, of course, also KOs annoying advertising generally.
