kc, sorry i didn't get back to you sooner but i didn't know this message was here till today.
I've replaced a few of the toilet seats from the water valve and that seems to have reduced the occurrences. I've turned on and off various faucets throughout the house both hot and cold and can't seem to get a repetitive response. I've gone around the basement and secured/resecured all exposed water piping (hot and cold) to limit any vibrations. I'll wait to see how bad the noise is before going any further into ceilings or walls to do more securing. It may be at the point where i can live with it. Only time will tell. Thanks for the advice,
