-In the study of 43 patients who received the vaccine, three patients with an advanced form of the disease experienced complete remission. They have been cancer free for three years since receiving the vaccine.
-In seven other patients the disease did not progress for between five and 28 months.
While this is a good result, IF antisense works more effectively on the same type of cancer I do not see where CEGE's lung cancer treatment (vaccine) would pose that much
of a threat to that market segment. 7.0% for complete remission, 16.0% for remission, with a total of 23.0% of those 43 people getting some sort of benefit from this vaccine.
Even though this is good, one has to remember that cancers mutate at a fairly high rate. I think the better alternative to a vaccine would be to interrupt the cancer's ability to
survive, or replicate. Cut off or replace part of its blueprint and I think there could be a much higher rate of success than CEGE's vaccine. Mutations would then be a moot point. CYGX is still years away from proving their technology
in human lungs though.
