">>>Attempting to embarass the administration by sending a Democratic operative husband to answer a vice presidential request for information<<<
So which one is it? In one breath you guys say Plame was nothing but a lousy secretary and in the next you say she had enough authority to personally appoint someone collecting intelligence overseas for the VP at a time of war.
Who do think had the last word on who went on that assignment? The VP himself or his staff, George Tenet or Valerie Plame? "
What a post! Please point out the post where I said Plame was nothing but a lousy secretary (whether with one breath or two). I also never said she personally appointed her husband for the trip. I said the Wilsons lied when they said she had no involvement. As for who had the last word on who went on that assignment, I would assume it was Plame's superior. The whole reason for the leak was in answer to the question, why would the VP's office send a Democratic flack to investigate a claim that Iraq was seeking uranium supplies. The VP's office merely sent a request to the CIA for intelligence on the matter. Tenet said he was unaware of the trip, thus, he was not the authorizing party. In fact, neither the trip, nor the ensuing verbal report (Wilson didn't even submit a written report) were considered a big deal.
Why did Wilson, clearly not a shy guy, go public with his account only AFTER the Iraq invasion. Clearly, this guy had numerous contacts with Democratic party members, couldn't he have given them a heads up, (if his findings were as significant as he now claims)?
