I suspect MP Nehalem is late 2009.
If it follows the same pattern as the last 10 years or so, the MP version will be about a year after initial product introduction. This leaves a hole in late 2008, which makes sense to fill with a 45nm core 2 based product that fits into the caneland platform...exactly as described.
