re intent to buy
If the intent to buy surveys I've read actually predict anything, Apple will pull an NT on the world with its Unix: expanding in schools and then, having taken the mindshare of the new crop of incoming IT workers, inevitably assault the enterprise.
Every time I read about Apple taking command in higher ed, I think about the NT rollout, and how it displaced Unix, which was regarded as having higher personnel overhead and requiring more expertise. Now that MSFT's NT-descendants apparently require a whole pile of certifications to set up, and the world is bristling with *nix expertise, I imagine this inverting in Apple's favor.
Or so is my hope.
Take care,
