I suspect he was hung because he knew of many Executive Excesses that he could have revealed. One, for example, dealt with the IPSA. You are probably aware that this stands for the "Iraqi Petroleum-Saudi" Arabian pipeline. During the invasion, somehow the meters were destroyed. But, there is speculation that the pipeline was intact and functional. This explains why as Saudi oil production reached its expected peak and started to decline, there was an unexpected surge in production. Unfortunately, the decline in Gandahar was so steep, that even the stolen cride from sparsely populated Southern Iraq could not offset the decline in production of this super giant that has lasted fifty years, and the declines re-appeared.
