Sun - Yes there have been upgrades & downgrades this morning,

but this could be a case where they open the stock ($31.94 pre-mkt currrently) at or near its lows and it trades up from there.

Having 2 boards is a little bit of a pain - going back and forth - but his a copy of a post I had on the MRVL board in regards to TXN last night.

You know what and I know this IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

but I can see why some in the past have speculated MRVL would be a good takeover target for TXN. (AGAIN - IT's NOT HAPPENING)

MRVL product mix fills voids for TXN. It would allow TXN to brand out a wide range of chips.

The TXN qtr, was actually very good. 54% margins - man I wish MRVL had those GM's. Earnings guidance was in line, but the revenue guidance was the killer.
Imo, this was a over reaction in AH, TXN forward P/E is fairly cheap.

imo, tough call for analysts when they write the reports - you have a co. with excellent gross margins, making good money, containing costs, pay a dividend, but have slowing revs. The co. is doing a good job of adjusting here because they are keeping up on the bottom line. You would have to think alot of the bad news should be built into the stock as it has fallen from its 52 wk high of 39+ which was only hit in July.
Maybe buy a little and tuck it away, as an investment.

Yeah, I saw the upgrade on TXN. TXN is building a new plant in Subic Bay, Philippines that won't be operational for a year or two.

Here in the Philippines, some mfgs are moving out due to the low dollar and to higher minimum wages to Vietnam.

All the chipmakers are going to be under price pressure now.

I'm bugging out of TXN this morning, most likely at a loss and going go back in long on Goldman Sachs. It's going to test it's high.

Looking at the charts again, this was a bad move. TXN should have been in the top half of it's BB to break out, not the lower end, as was MRVL awhile back.
