Yes you can tell they are fake and easily. Don't believe everything you hear. GIA and all trade magazines in jewelry have put out how to tell the fake from real.

Hi falco...not until you mentioned them...

I did a little digging on the internet, and it seems that (at least for now) they are producing only colored diamonds, all yellow-to-orange. I'm certainly no gemologist, but it makes me wonder if there is something in the seeding process that allows them to only produce these colored ones. Perhaps A2Gems could shed some light here.

As for its potential impact on NSDM...it's just my opinion, but I don't see any real impact. Colorless diamonds will always be in demand, and as I said, for whatever reasons, Gemesis doesn't seem to be offering colorless diamonds. Sure, getting a more rare colored diamond is something that many folks might consider, especially at "less rare" prices. But, seems to me that the lucky few who can really afford colored diamonds are not buying them solely for their beauty, but also because they are indeed rare. It's that feeling one gets when one has something so rare that few others have it - to those people, it's worth the extra bucks.

Anyway, just my thoughts and opinions. I would really like to hear what a gemologist has to say about them.
