Most mindboggling is that the neocons claim that "supporting our troops" is leaving them in Iraq to die? If the war effort is so futile that there can be no measurable criteria for victory, doesn't "supporting our troops" mean bringing them home?? This morning I heard that the number one health problem of Iraq vets is psych illness -- because you cannot leave people in grossly stressful situations for extended periods of time without greatly increasing their risk for serious mental illness. And what priority do the "chickenhawks" (those very "compassionate conservatives") give to mental illness -- "keep a stff upper lip you winey little chickenshit -- real men don't do pyschosis or PTSD"??
