Looks like this is a classic case of a rising tide lifting all boats. Very strong PC and microprocessor market, and both Intel and AMD are benefitting.
I would also point out that AMD is benefitting this quarter from what Intel will benefit from next quarter: since Barc got qual'd for production, then everything related to it got moved from COGS to inventory. COGS affects GM, inventory doesn't. I think this contributes to Intel's expected big jump in GMs next quarter.
I knew I should have stayed away from the AMD put well through Q3 and Q4. Oh well, that's why I gambled just a fraction of what I did during last summer's swoon. At least they're 09 puts, so anything could happen still...
