I think we are talking about two different things. I am talking about the nonexistence of "neutrality" of light, not in the inability to quantify it for human understanding. My quote, which you also quoted, was:
If there were a neutral state between light and dark, hot and cold, then surely it would be capable of being quantified in either lumens or degrees.
I agree that we can measure the difference between 1 lumen and 2 lumens, but my question is how many lumens equals "neutral" in an absolute, scientific sense. I might be wrong, but I don't think there is a correct answer.
