Rob - you may or may not know the derivation of the name "Sooners" for the football team, but I thought others who might not know this would be interested. And I'd say the name fits VERY well for who we are as a group.

From Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, "Sooner, n. A person occupying homestead land, as formerly in the western US, before the authorized time for doing so, thus gaining an unfair advantage in choice of location."

Now. I'll bet that every one of us has gotten here by investing our own hard earned money or by being gifted by someone who cares about us. But I'd say we'll have a heck of an advantage over those who want to get into NVC later in the year. All the best to the "Sooners," the best darned team around (an' I ain't talkin' football!)
