It would also be interesting to know what evidence they used to identify the shipwreck as the Scipion. From what they have it seems they used wine bottles and other things but I wonder what directly confirms this site as the Scipion.

Roosterdoo- The Scipion was decommissioned in 1816 & broken up in 1819 as per this article-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_ship_Scipion

yes. 2 different ships. VERY common for multiple ships, same name. Get it straight-2 ships, 2 histories, one sank and one captured. 2 lives. There are probably more Scipion's out there. There are muliple "Polly's" and "Mary's" and "Neptunes"!
