I don't think you can assume headcount. I do think it is more complicated that you imply. Certainly redundant jobs are looked at, perhaps they will offer a package for long term employees but I don't think the major cost cutting will come from headcount cuts. There is the .45nam process coming full blast in 08 which will help reduce costs significantly. Also are you implying that Intel will cut 10K jobs in 2008? that is pure fud.
