Jules2, I agree. Intel has been losing money in everything but x86 processors for many years now. I like your water & rock example.

Actually, if you take a look at the past five years of Intel stock performance, it hasn't been very good. Perhaps investors are noticing.

It is interesting to compare the stock prices of Intel, AMD, IBM and Microsoft over these five years. The winner? AMD. Intel comes in third, and Microsoft loses:
