Mas, maybe you're right. But I think the PPC derived chips are essentially squeezed hard between x86 and ARM. ARM will be fast enough for game consoles just in 4-5 years. That will be a 7-10 Ghz ARM and it will be faster than most of today x86 chips.
Has there been an official statement that Xbox2 will be PPC based? I know IBM is fabbing it, but there weren't any details on the architecture that I saw....
