In my view, sms in Europe was very much an accident not planned by the mobile operators and not even supported by advertising. It was viewed as too difficult an interface and a very tedious way to create text. It was also a mono experience running on a standard GSM network. So in my view the user experience was very much like a DOS interface was on early computers.

We are now moving towards a 2.5g GPRS and full blown 3G (broadband in your hand)experience and the handsets are full color with audio/video content, supported by MMS, cameras and even mp3 built into the handsets.

Hence in my view we are moving towards a more Windows type user experience for the consumer. The problem is how to navigate this rich media content, the key is PaperClick, D2C, direct to content. This gives the consumer an easy way to get to content and unleashes the power of the new operating systems. Hence my quote.

Hope this makes sense and helps.

Subject: PaperClick is Windows:

Could you explain what you mean here:

"If mobile texting (sms) is DOS then PaperClick is Windows! We truly believe that PaperClick has the potential to be bigger than texting."

What makes PaperClick that much better then mobile texting?

Thanks

Awesome post! Although I was joking I really do believe Microsoft would die to snatch NeoMedia up. But at the same time NeoMedia would prob. rush to run along the sife of MicroSoft. Sounds good and all but thats not my vote.

My vote goes to Apple.
