A lot of companies would have PR'd the convention, you're right about that, and IMO COPI would be justified in releasing something. But it's not hard to get the info and I can't believe that anyone following COPI would be unaware.
To me, lots of many PRs from a company is a red flag. I'd rather have a company doing stuff quietly than trumpeting every move.
