Hardly disagreeing with anything you or Clams are saying, but - assuming an RS (which may no be dealt in the next hand, but probably somewhere down the road) - you can play them.
Do some DD on RS's. PM some smart, long time players about it. RS's feel really bad - but they're not always the end of the world. It's all in how they are played, by the company, and you.
