kpf, thanks for the link. It is good to see the microsoft has finally released a beta to the general public. The only thing holding me back from buying is the release of socket 939. Another month or two I suppose.

By the way for those who like to incrementally upgrade, you can buy an A64 3000+ and motherboard for around $350.

My understanding is that this is the same release as the earlier, restricted beta. 1069? I think this is a very good sign, meaning that the earlier beta was really very, very close to final "release quality" code. So close they didn't bother to refresh the beta for the public release.

BTW, one of the early vocal complaints about the MSDN beta was that the computer hung when doing a "properties" request on a device. That isn't a problem with Microsoft, that's a problem with the external device file.
