Im sure all these alternative energies were economically viable and we have simply ignored them.

I always figured corporations were out to make a buck but perhaps they are just stupid

If those other sources were a better economic deal we would have invented and used them. The fact is they couldn't compete with oil for energy provided per dollar spent. Spending more money for the same result makes you economically worse off.

As I see it our dependence on foreign oil has saved us money over what would have been the much more expensive alternative fuels.

Would be interested in hearing a breakdown of how using the most economic energy source available actually cost us trillions though. Graphs charts and actual data would be appreciated.

Also would like to hear what those things we could have invented were specifically.

I have personally decided that we could have already invented the fountain of youth if we weren't spending so much money in this country on hair gel.
