Speaking of crashes, it sure seems like there has not been one in a couple days. Perhaps the anagram solver (or someone's use of it) was the villain.

I think the happy hour feature doesn't accomplish what it's designed to do.

As happy hour occurs at a fixed time largely aimed at eastern North America it is essentially by accident that freebies and newbies stumble upon the features. A couple of hours of PM usage really doesn't give a user the full value of the premium Ihub experience.

I think an introductory free premium period at sign-up makes more sense. New users are immediately exposed to all of Ihub's premium features while they're interested and exploring. After a period of time, a month perhaps, the introductory period expires and service to all premium features is disabled and the posting limit is set much lower than today. This would curb the abuse by members unwilling to pay.

A problem I can see with the above model is abuse by multi-alias subscribers. An idiot with PM privileges could wreak a fair amount of havoc in a short period of time.

Why not require new users to register with a valid credit card. No charges would be made until the introductory period is concluded. This way you know who your subscribers really are, even the free ones. Seems like that would cut down on the abuse.
