Two quad cores per the IBM paper.
This result shows the 1.9Ghz Barcelona about 3% faster than the 2.66Ghz Xeon. Note that in the AMD slide that Anandtech posted, they reported a 12% better time for AMD. We really need to see the 3Ghz Xeon versus the fastest available Barcelona, but based on this it looks like this particular benchmark is going to be pretty close. Using linear clock scaling AMD will need a 2.1Ghz Barcelona to match the 3Ghz Xeon... Also, I am wondering if Intel will allow reviewers to release penryn benchmark comparisons or not... originally I figured they would be so far no sight of such a thing.
