The SmartScan is just a door lock...without Sequiam's technology. Sequiam doesn't make the lock, it makes it biometric! It is THAT FEATURE which makes it the LEADING SELLER ON HOME DEPOT'S WEBSITE IN THE DOOR LOCK AREA!!!!
And the runner up behind it? THE OTHER COLOR SMARTSCAN!
The scanner is top quality...otherwise Kwikset wouldn't waste their time.
As for sales recorded on the 10Q, let's recall that there were only two periods of full rollout, or near full rollout. The first was in 4Q of last year, when the company had OVER 1.5 MILLION IN REVENUES and only 30K IN LOSSES. Yep, 30K! And that wasn't even a full blown rollout! The other period is going to be this quarter, the third quarter 2007, more or less. Of course that information is being conveniently left out. The filings discussed other product rolling out in 3Q as well, so that may impact positively on 3Q revenues. Today's PR will NOT affect 3Q at all, IMO. What it does is further the goal of the company, to enhance the security of anyone's product by making it biometric.
Based on the 4th quarter, with only a partial pilot rollout, if you extrapolate for the entire year, they'd have had 6 million in revenues and 120K in total losses...not too shabby considering the growing pains before. That is 4 million below "predictions," which POTENTIALLY could be very LOW given all the new products possibly being handled in the coming year. I don't expect 6 million in 3Q and 4Q...but who knows, I didn't expect the amount of revenue to date this year.
And while they were a little delayed on delivery, they DID deliver. Unlike some, who NEVER delivered. And never paid.
