DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 2001--Airtech International Group, Inc., (OTCBB:AIRG) has partnered with a National mechanical engineering firm, and a large Texas Independent School District to install and test Airtech's new P-96 photocatalytic oxidation based, in-duct technology in two school facilities of the school district. The project is a major step towards the establishment of a nationwide campaign by Airtech and the mechanical engineering company to install the technology in new and existing school facilities across the United States. Participants in the partnership were not divulged as a precautionary measure to protecting the proprietary nature of the project.
According to Airtech's CEO, John Harris, "We believe that Airtech's technology will show that school facilities will be able to significantly reduce the amount of outside air required to dilute and remove indoor air contamination. By decreasing the amount of outside air or ventilation required, we intend to show a positive cost/benefit analysis composed of reduced annual utility bills of as much as $1,000 per classroom for heating, cooling, humidifying or dehumidifying fresh air, and a corresponding reduction of $1,800 to $2,200 of original equipment cost related to reduced tonnage of air handling equipment required in new classroom construction.

The Airtech technology installed in the school facilities last week the new, P-96 product. The P-96, is the newest product in Airtech's product arsenal, has the capacity to disinfect the air in commercial applications producing up to 2,000 cubic feet per minute of airflow. The product generates 5 times the biological killing power and chemical fume and odor reduction capacity of the product, with nearly 6 times the physical air-cleaning field. The P-96 technology has been tested by the world-class ultraviolet light experts of UVDI, Inc., via a computer software application model.

Harris commented, "Conducting these tests in conjunction with one of the largest engineering firms in school construction in the United States is a reflection of their confidence in our technology, and positions Airtech to be a major player in this education industry. It is well documented that schools have enormous and far reaching problems with indoor air. We believe that we can demonstrate that the benefits of reduced operating costs will far outweigh the costs of buying and installing the technology. A cleaner air environment in schools is a healthier environment that will equate to lowering teacher and student absenteeism. Schools lose substantial amounts of reimbursement of between $2.50 and $5.00 per day from government authorities for each absent student. Testing of the technology is being conducted as a preliminary to the installation of the technology in two schools in the school district that have existing indoor air quality problems. Engineering firm is responsible for over 2000 classrooms per year."
