If I see Intel following this route, I will pull out of my AMD investment as AMD will be right back in the usual position of following.

Yes, it will be great PR when Intel adopts an AMD design for the first time ever.

But even if they extend it, AMD will not necessarily be following in PERFORMANCE, which has much more of an impact on revenues.

And this time, AMD plays in the server space, too.

Pulling out of your investment when AMD64 extensions materialize seems a bit rash.

This strategy would only ignite a legal battle that Intel would lose. In my opinion, I can't see Intel taking this course.
