I'm listening to Bloomberg TV online as I trade and in the commentary on TD & E-Trade merger, it sounds like the deal is that E-Trade substantially weakened their hand by having a substantial vulnerability to the woe happening out there that is well known to have been causing the present tremulous state of the markets. As such, TD will be the acquirer, if the talks proceed. As it (E-Trade that is) has holders of substantial positions (read hedge funds & venture cap types) that have been the sources of the WSJ article, it follows that e-Trade is much weaker financially and is looking for TD to be, as it were, it's white knight.

The reason this is material to us is that, if E-Trade were to be the dominant party, it can be presumed that initiatives such as the one that is rumored to be in the works at TD Ameritrade with Spooz would be vulnerable, since the big dog generally gets to dictate such things in post merger environments. BUT... and it is a big BUT (as you will notice LOL), if TD is seizing an opportunity to leapfrog Schwab by this merger with E-Trade, then it is likely that the reach of the deal with SPZI will be even more enormous than previosly anticipated. Translated: BOY HOWDY does this most likely add value to our favorite little pinkie stock!! WOW.

If we went to something above 12 million possible users, it is not even remotely silly to postulate that the 2008 income could be some astomomical number like $450 million.

Hope it comes true at TD. What an base of users to build a future upon!!
