One thing is for sure . A R/M partner will be selected out of the 4 possible candidates. Rumors are that it is baritepacific, a PR will confirm it in few days. but to your point it may or may not happen.

But that is the nature of pinkie trading , rumors are always out there. most of the time it has some truth to it.
