blauboad, it seems to me that companies which can not keep up in the processor race tend to talk about "post PC" eras. Meanwhile, DSP and embedded products - while certainly ubiquitous - do not bring in a whole lot of profit. That is the problem with the thesis: The cheap, "post PC" products are cheap. Too cheap.

Meanwhile, processors still rule the roost, despite more than a decade of pious declarations that they are dead. Somehow users still find needs for more power and more DRAM.
