AmTech Research analyst: Apple will sell 1.95 million Macs this quarter
Thursday, August 09, 2007 - 09:33 AM EDT

American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu has reiterated his "Buy" recommendation on Apple Inc. [AAPL] shares with a 12-month target price of $185 per share.

"We find the new iMacs impressive with their thinner and sleeker aluminum and glass enclosure (similar to iPhone), new Intel Santa Rosa platform with faster Core 2 Duo processors, advanced ATI Radeon HD graphics, and lower price points. We believe the entry-level model with large 20-inch widescreen will sell particularly well," Wu wrote in a recent note to clients.

Wu predicts that Apple will sell 1.95 million Macs in the current quarter (which would be up 10.5% sequentially and 21.1% year-over-year).

Yesterday, RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky predicted that Apple will sell 2 million Macs in the current quarter (please see related article below).

Me too, maybe...

Since I sold 135, 130 and 125 puts back on 7/23 and 7/24 (AAPL jumping around 137-142), I may have bought too. We will see.

Got 2.65 to 5.30 for the puts. Time will tell if that was a good deal or not.

I also sold 175(!) calls for $1.54 back then. Doesn't look like those are going to get called. Imagine the excitement around here if they did :).

I too JUMPED at the chance. I was too busy to wait. Guess my AOA got the best of me :)

Thought about a late avg dn but thought better of it. I expect that will be an incorrect call as well. So be it. Apple will be getting closer to 200 before 100.
