#558765 RE: guzbug #558761

Yes, it is, guz. I am currently moving into T-Bills, and will continue to buy each Tuesday for the next couple of months. After that I will have one Bill coming due each week, which is the setup I want. I was surprised, having not had T-Bills in some time, to find that the $10K minimum no longer applies, and one can buy a bill for as little as $1K.

The rest of my 'loot' is in precious metals I take possession of, and some paid-off real estate. I figure T-Bills are as safe as one can get and still be in dollars, backed by the US government, and if the government goes, well, then everything goes, doesn't it. . .

By the way, the T-Bill rate is usually better than CDs, you don't have exposure to bank failures, and you can buy them directly from the Fed over the Internet.
