I don't know how much of it is 'rumor' as it is some kind of grand thing, as Deros hinted in an e-mail to one of our posters that news will be coming. Believe me, I am hoping for some good news, too!
The fun part is trying to 'guess' what the news will be. I hear people mention 'merger' but I don't think that is on the table. DNNI is way too small to 'merge' with anyone of significant value. What we are looking for is a big outlet that will have Donini supply them with their product, in order to enhance their line. As an example I used in the past: Dunkin Donuts. At one time, they tried to go the sandwich route, so as to serve more than just breakfast and donuts. It didn't make it, because it was too time consuming for the counter people to make sandwiches with tuna, turkey, etc... Something like a Donini Pronto Counter would make a good team. This will PROBABLY NOT happen with DD, as they already have all sorts of deals like this. In New York, DD has Baskin Robbins Ice Cream in a lot of their places, as well as some sandwich shop thing, the name of which escapes me at this moment.
Deal or not, another future for DNNI would be to open more restaurants, and we know THAT is happening now. Soon they will have Newark, the US flagship restaurant, and more places in Canada.
As for the price movements, don't get too crazy about that. This stock is shorted, so the MMs are looking to shake out as many shares as they can. Eric had the amount of shorted shares a few weeks back. If any decent news comes out, this will move rather quick, thanks to the VERY low float. Good news, plus short covering will equal a NICE day for those who wait. I don't like the fact that we have waited SO LONG after we should have heard news, but I am also glad of the fact that I have seen no dilution, and no fluffy PRs, so we seem to SO FAR have honest management. (This is still a PINK, so who knows.)
