#23479 RE: Jack Hammered #23474

Jack, you mean Tuesday. Monday is MLK Day, markets closed. On TA - definitely on topic. There was a discussion about that a while back; this is a stock board, open to AMD technicals, fundamentals and related technology issues. Some here don't believe in TA, but they have agreed to be polite.

I am interested in TA discussions - I'm a little nervous about the direction of the market as a whole once earnings are behind us. I'm about 2/3 in cash right now, and don't want to commit money at the top (of course). Should I sit out a couple of months? That is the question I'm studying, starting this weekend.

Meanwhile, I'm working up some personal business ideas, away from technology for a change. But that is definitely OT...

@Jack
"
I would like to see more of that here if the board approves.
"

The board structure is more technical (in AMD's view) directed
, which is the thing I'm also "loving" very much, but for what
are we here? We all want to make "good" money and thats why
I think we should talk a little bit more about other stuff.
My hole interest lies into the semi-market and there always
exist many many opportunities, which we could handle. I think
of a fundamental analysis and a more market (TA) view - I'm
feeling even more confident, when I'm understanding the under-
lying fundamental ongoing, but I have no problem to trade
only with good trading indications. Here in germany we
couldn't go short and fees are generally relativly high, when
you don't trade with huge amounts of money. Online brokers
have good commissions, but with small short term orders, the
margin could fast erode the managed gain.

I don't know whether this is possible - it would be a good
idea (like W:O here in germany) if we could establish a few
more related (sub)boards - e.g. a TA sub-board and (or) a
board with new trading ideas.

You will probably know it - I'm interested a long time in
NVDA and could make a few good trades. The same goes to NSM.
A long term favourite is Cisco and from my beginning (1995)
I'm looking from time to time to SGI ... only to mention a
few names. Heh - not to forget MIPS - they appear to make
great inroads into the big ARM sector, which nearly replaced
all MIPS design in the past years ...
(Keep in mind, AMD is using a MIPS license for AU)
