here's more info Bloomberg.com reports Navistar Intl (NAVZ.PK) won a $413.9 mln award from the U.S. Marine Corps to build blast-resistant trucks as the Pentagon speeds delivery of the vehicles to protect troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Navistar's Intl Military and Govt unit will build 755 of the trucks by Feb '08 as part of the Mine-Resistant, Ambush-Protected vehicle, or MRAP, program, the U.S. Defense Department said in a statement Friday. The award is Navistar's third manufacturing contract for the vehicles, following $631.5 mln in awards this year. The $1.04 bln total gives it the largest share of among the seven cos awarded production contracts. Prior to Friday's award, the largest recipient of orders for the trucks was Force Protection (FRPT). Force has received orders valued at more than $770 mln, or about 30% of the total after the Navistar award.
