"is there an explanation to the huge volume that happened in december? that big spike. was that previous covering?"

Mind you this is only my opinion, but first of all, the 'explanation' to the huge volume back in December was due to the market's interest in and impression of the Hemi fundamentals. What occurred up to the big spike was not covering, but rather continue interest in the impressive fundamentals.

The spike itself, IMVHO (as well as a few very knowledgeable others) was an orchestrated approach by the MMs to 'win the chart back', which obviously worked.

To further elaborate, a 'squeeze' (covering) is usually a sudden thing. The slow and steady Hemi uptrend did not indicate a squeeze, even though it is generally believed that the MMs had naked shorted Hemi from last summer's .40, down to .018.

It appeared that even inasmuch as Hemi was naked shorted, back then, MMs simply kept issuing more shorts, and being surprised at the demand, just kept issuing yet more shorts....to the point they realized it was getting out of hand, and had to be reversed. Hence, the 30 minute run to .90, and the subsequent 'failure' of a continuing uptrend. At that point, they finally 'installed' (in the chart) what was needed to begin 'shaking' shareholder confidence.

They have kept this agenda up, for the last 4-5 months, though Hemi shareholders have not acquised easily. In this time, they have fought tooth and nail to keep taking Hemi down, even on days where awesome developments were announced. They had to. They were (and are) deeper than ever with naked short shares (NSS).

(NSS also stands for naked short selling)

Things are changing though. OSTK set a resounding precedence in their recent NSS battle, more and more Hemi certs are being requested...nay...DEMANDED (!!!), Hemi's (4-6 well p/mo.?) drilling program has begun, Wilshire backing expected, CNBC/WBN airing coming soon, Hemi's production numbers expected to resume soon (now that good weather has came back), etc., all are fuel enough for the fire that causes such things as a true trend reversal, and MMs are beginning to realize that they simply cannot continue to fight fire with air (shares).

GLTA and watch the Hemi go!!!

The huge volume in Dec was in response to the letter to shareholders from management, restoring faith in the company by those who were feeling the agony of the price decline, and it was so well written that it brought in a whole new group of investors.....
