benzdealeror- What you say in your post and the links you have included makes your message incredibly powerful IMO. And referring back to Bush's 'terrible pilot' speech.....he did it twice. Here's an old post of mine from over three years ago.......

richtoken-I have a little question for you. You mentioned that, "[Kerry] is constantly changing what he says to questions."
I've decided that we can have a great debate, but you'll have to bear with me, and read Bush's responses to some questions first.

Number One: Q One thing, Mr. President, is that you have no idea how much you've done for this country. And another thing is that, how did you feel when you heard about the terrorist attack? (Applause.)

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you, Jordan. Well, Jordan, you're not going to believe what state I was in when I heard about the terrorist attack. I was in Florida. And my Chief of Staff, Andy Card -- actually, I was in a classroom talking about a reading program that works. I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower -- the TV was obviously on. And I used to fly, myself, and I said, well, there's one terrible pilot. I said, it must have been a horrible accident.

Number Two:
What was the first thing that went through your head when you heard that a plane crashed into the first building?

THE PRESIDENT: Yes. Well, I was sitting in a schoolhouse in Florida. I had gone down to tell my little brother what to do, and -- just kidding, Jeb. (Laughter.) And -- it's the mother in me. (Laughter.) Anyway, I was in the midst of learning about a reading program that works. I'm a big believer in basic education, and it starts with making sure every child learns to read. And therefore, we need to focus on the science of reading, not what may feel good or sound good when it comes to teaching children to read. (Applause.) I'm just getting a plug in for my reading initiative.

Anyway, I was sitting there, and my Chief of Staff -- well, first of all, when we walked into the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And you know, I thought it was pilot error and I was amazed that anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And something was wrong with the plane, or -- anyway, I'm sitting there, listening to the briefing, and Andy Card came and said, "America is under attack."

Note: I'm wondering how you would characterize the tone of Bush's responses- Sad? Devastated? Unhappy? Cheerful? Witty?
Cute? Humorous? Humorous? Humorous?

Now, please read this article and tell me what you think.

About Bush lying seeing the first plane hit I’ve heard Bushee’s try to explain it away by saying it was another public gaff, Bush was confused on stage again which on its own is scary enough to have a president who can’t be brought into public without looking like a dope every time he has been handed a microphone. Bushee’s no doubt came to this conclusion on their own; implicitly trusting their decider in chief and looked for what sounds like a plausible explanation.

For a moment though let’s take the Bushee’s at their word, give the president a chance and eat the Bovine University tripe served up. Bush was just confused on stage and described seeing the second plane hit. OH! But wait he couldn’t have because he was in the classroom when it hit! That IS what Andy Card was informing him about when he walked into in the class room to interrupt the book reading.

OK so still implicitly trusting our decider in chief, Bush must have been just embellishing the story he told on stage, stretching if you will for effect, audiences love good stories. In other words he intentional lied BUT HEY he was trying to relate with the common folk, remember people love good stories.

Bush in the classroom on 9/11

That is one hell of gaff even for Dubyaas! He knowingly lied to the audience and that alone should make anyone question anything he says. Let's say Bush did see the second plane hit, then walked into the classroom. It took them over 4 minutes to realize it was an attack when CNN figured out the second the plane hit! Oh we got some bright bulbs in the White House.

Timeline as laid out in video
8:19 AM flight attendant notifies American Airlines of hijacking
8:21 AM Transponder is turned off
8:23 AA attempts to contact the cockpit
8:25 Boston Center is made aware of the hijacking
8:35 Bush leaves Colony Resort headed to the photo-op for an approximate 20 minute drive to the school.
8:38 Boston Center notifies Northeast Air Defense (NEADS) Sector of Hijacking
8:46 NEADS scrambles Otis fighter jets in search of AA flight 11
8:46:40 AA flight 11 hits WTC north tower.
8:53 Otis fighter jets airborne

At time index 4:42 the video classroom scene starts
Time index 4:50 Bush walks in
Time index 7:56 video cuts over to document showing bin Laden was determined to attack inside the United States. 3:14 second pass from the time the video starts to the cut over
Time index 9:04 video returns to classroom where it left off at

Time index 10:58 Andy Card walks into tell the president a seond plane hit the tower and America is under attack. 1:54 passes between the start of the video to the time Andy Card speaks to the president, total time elapsed 4:08 in classroom before Bush was notified.
Then Bush sat there 5 plus minutes like a lump on the log so as to not scare the kiddies with any sudden movements, it’s natural of course for kids to be scared when people get out of their chairs and excuse themselves.
