Hi Nick, I'm glad to know you're not feeling wishiewashie about this!
:-)

Seriously, when were you last a Waterhouse customer?

I don't know much about Scottrade. In the past some of the deep discounters didn't pay interest on cash holdings and charged extra for Limit Orders and such. So, the Service VS Cost question seemed to favor the regular discounters.

Please feel free to tell more about Scott Trade as it might be timely if Waterhouse does change their facility/interface to something less desirable.

Best regards, Tom

>> Why would anyone use a broker besides Scottrade ??

Well, if you need a 'full service broker' (i.e. someone to call for a sanity check), then I recommend Schwab, have had an excellent experience with them, although their commisions hare the highest of the online group, it's still not bad

Nick, I would ask, why would anyone use Scottrade.. I got outta there almost a year ago, couldn't deal with their outages and lousy web site. You should see the board here on IHUB!

I do still have a small IRA with them, but only because my current broker doesn't support them. I will likely move that to Interactive Brokers.
